N2SHAPE offers comprehensive fitness programs for improved health, weight loss, injury recovery, and increased sports performance. We work with all ages, shapes, and sizes. Our goal is your goal – we design workouts to meet your needs. Our services are offered throughout Northern Virginia and the Washington, D.C. area. You can train in our studio, at home or work, and even virtually.  Our certified professional trainers provide nutrition coaching, corporate wellness programs, Pilates and yoga classes, injury rehabilitation, active aging programs, and senior fitness. When she founded N2SHAPE in 1994, Ellen Yates never imagined that the company would become her life’s purpose. Fitness is Ellen’s passion, and she’s created a business that lets her teach people to embrace healthy lifestyles and have fun doing it. Ellen and the great team of personal trainers and specialty instructors she’s assembled have helped hundreds of people lose weight, achieve fitness goals, recover from injuries, and improve their health.

Ellen Yates

President & Founder

Ellen Yates is the President and Founder of N2Shape which has been providing fitness programs one on one & in small groups to individuals & businesses for over 25 years. Ms. Yates started her career as a health & fitness professional after graduating with a degree in Health & Fitness Management. After leading fitness programs & managing fitness facilities centers for the federal government for 10 years, she left to start her own business, working one on one and in small groups, with private individuals to improve their health and enhance their well-being. Ellen inspires people to move beyond pain & problems with exercise.

Michelle Boulay

Personal Trainer

Michelle has been with N2Shape for 11 years! She is also a personal trainer. She looks the part as well as you would not want t to meet her in a dark alley! Don’t let that fool you though! She has a gentle touch & knows how all the muscles in the body work blindfolded.

Abra Frankel

Yoga Instructor

Originally trained in Sivananada Yoga in Kerala, India in 2008, my teaching style has evolved over the years to focus on building strength and functional mobility. I have done additional training in injury management, pre and post natal yoga, and yoga for healthy aging. My yoga classes are purposeful but down to earth – I believe developing your practice requires understanding, persistence, and repetition. Outside of the studio, I have two small kids who remind me every day to stop and smell the proverbial roses (and sometimes actual roses too).

Izzy Ulsh

Yoga Instructor

To escape a stressful job as a graphic designer in New Jersey, Isabelle (Izzy) « fell under the spell » of yoga in 1998. In 2000, she completed her first 200-hour yoga training in a Sivananda yoga school in Freehold, NJ. She has continued teaching yoga and earned many additional yoga qualifications along the way.
