MICHELLE BOULAYThroughout the years spent in the gym, Michelle has been a trainer-mentor for everyone from the novice to the high-performing competitor. Fitness is not only her passion, but it is her life’s calling, and she truly practices what she preaches. Michelle naturally brings infectious enthusiasm to N2SHAPE with her positive and motivating personality, keeping clients engaged and focused on achieving their goals.
She began her career in fitness as a graduate of the National Personal Training Institute and has 15-plus years of exercise, fitness training, competitive running, and body building/power lifting experience. To this day she is a consistent runner who often places well in 5k and 10k road races within her age group. She has also competed in many bodybuilding competitions throughout Japan, England, and the Armed Forces organized competitions. As a Certified Nutritional Counselor, meal planning and nutritional counseling are essential parts of the programs Michelle provides.
Dana is a personal trainer, a coach and mentor. She brings a blend of academic knowledge, creativity, and a belief in hard work to every person she has the privilege of working with. With a background in sprinting, powerlifting, and the military, her workouts are unlike any other and focus on results and forging a positive relationship with exercise.
Dana has several years’ experience as a personal trainer as well as competing as a power lifter. She is currently training for a spot in the 2013 World Games. She is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist® (CSCS®) and as a Certified Personal Trainer through NSCA. She holds a BA in Economics and is currently working on her Masters.
She is the proud rescuer of a 6 year old Beagle, Niki, quite possibly the most adorable dog in the world.
Melissa got her undergraduate in Theatre and Art History from SUNY Potsdam and my MA in Applied Drama from Royal Holloway University of London. She never gave much thought to the ideas of exercise and healthy living; in fact, she has spent most of her life battling obesity…until she found Turbo Kick three years ago. Melissa is certified in Turbo Kick from Poweder Blue Productions as well as All-Star Presenter Camp. Now a dedicated Turbo enthusiast and instructor, she is thrilled to be helping others reach their health and fitness goals. With a curious blend of humor, energy, and optimism she brings the party to her classes so you reach a maximum calorie burn with double fun…and triple the sweat! As an instructor, she offers a first class cardio workout, nutrition and excercise advice while also offering her services as an accountability buddy.
Joe’s background in martial arts is truly jaw-dropping. After achieving the highest attainable honors and a 4.0 GPA from National Louis University, Joseph’s discipline and dedication is evident not only from an academic standpoint, but in his devotion to self-betterment. Joe has been a personal trainer and leading group exercise classes for all ages for more than 20 years.
He has an impressive background as a certified Master Fifth Degree Black Belt instructor in three different styles of martial arts, along with certification by ACE, AAA/ISMA, and NAPMA. Joe has completed the Sixth Sense for Self-mastery and Self-protection and owned a business teaching principles of self-protection, fitness, and motivational training for 13 years. He has served in multifaceted roles from a sports and health director to fitness, martial arts, boxing, coaching, and teaching both one on one and in seminars or group classes. N2SHAPE is proud to have Joe on our talented team of trainers; his refreshing style has produced life-changing results and positive changes in all of his clients.
Sharelle is a graduate of Florida A&M University, where she majored in Business Administration with a focus on Finance. She has always led an active lifestyle including cheerleading, dance, soccer, running, and annually does the Susan G. Komen 60 Mile Walk.
It was “Love at First Dance” after she attended one of her friend’s Zumbathons. After a year of classes and 3 fund raisers later, she became a certified Zumba® Instructor. She encourages everyone to JOIN THE PARTY and experience ZUMBA®!
Judy has been a fitness enthusiast for more decades than she cares to admit. She is AFAA-certified as both a personal trainer and a GroupEx instructor and is a Level III Certified YogaFit instructor. Judy teaches weekly classes in Body Sculpt, Yoga, and Pilates and is also a member of the N2Shape team that provides small-group or individual one-on-one private-training sessions. Ever the exercise enthusiast herself, Judy also exercises her brain as a freelance writer who creates exhibition text for museums.
As a busy mother of three, perhaps no one is more sympathetic to the need for balance amid a busy lifestyle than Anne. Her gentle yet motivating nature puts clients at ease throughout the group exercise classes she has been teaching here at N2SHAPE for the past five years. With a specialty in yoga, spinning, and body pump, Anne brings high-quality aptitude and much enthusiasm to her audience. She quietly encourages participation, which works well for many newcomers to the fitness scene.
Anne has a B.S. from Virginia Polytechnic and State University and is an AFAA-certified fitness instructor. She continues to educate and hone in on her specialties through Mad Dogg Athletics, Les Mills BodyPump, and SilverSneakers trainings. STEPHANIE PAO
Stephanie is a rising third-year at the University of Virginia working on a Finance degree in the McIntire School of Commerce. Stephanie’s fitness background includes a sporty array of swimming, tennis, and working out. She is the key administrative contact person at N2SHAPE.
Several years ago Catha reinvented herself as a life/ wellness coach and yoga teacher, leaving behind her life as a corporate executive. She is a graduate of the acclaimed Georgetown University Leadership coaching program and is a 200 hour Yoga Alliance certified yoga instructor. Catha is pursuing her certificate in health coaching from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and her personal trainer certification from ACE.
Barbara coaches N2SHAPE founder, Ellen Yates, on business vision, strategy, and communications. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Stanford University. During her undergraduate years, she worked as a research assistant Stanford Medical Center’s department of behavioral medicine, supporting clinical studies on medically supervised weight loss, eating disorders, and stress management.
Previously a professional fitness trainer in San Francisco, Barbara has been an ACSM Certified Health and Fitness Specialist since 1997. Her latest fitness passion is Tae Kwon Do.
Exercise has been Alfred’s lifelong passion, which is evident by his style of personal training and tremendous skill as an athlete. Even as a youth, Alfred participated in running, football, and is a nationally ranked body builder, winning numerous competition-level awards. For the past six years, Alfred has been a personal trainer and believes in living a healthy balance between nutrition and exercise.
Alfred helps clients to achieve balance and enjoys sharing his real-world knowledge of incorporating a healthy diet and exercise with the clients of N2SHAPE. He is certified through NSPA as a personal trainer and is also a certified yoga instructor, bringing a great blend of both group-training knowledge and one-on-one expertise to N2SHAPE.
